New Hampshire Wrestlers Compete In 2023 Bay State Summer Games In Massachusetts
Wrestlers from Concord, Amherst, Bedford, Bow, Keene, Salem, and other towns competed against wrestlers from New England and NY on Saturday.
FITCHBURG, MA — On Saturday, several wrestlers from New Hampshire, including Concord, Bow, Amherst, Keene, Salem, and the Seacoast, wrestled in the 2023 Bay State Summer Games in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
The wrestlers competed with hundreds of others from around New England and New York.
In the Boys Scholastic category, meaning high school students, Metro West United of Massachusetts, which had many wrestlers competing, came in first with 49 points. The Doughboy Wrestling Club of Lowell came in second with 39. The Blue Devil Wrestling Club of Salem placed fourth with 6 points. Smittys Barn came in third and 15th with 13 points combined. Concord and Bow came in 15th.

Individual Granite State placers included:
Lily Runez of Keene placed third in the 106-pound category, while Trevor O’Brien of Salem from the Blue Devil Wrestling Club placed fourth.

Aiden Fogarty of Smittys placed fourth in the 113 weight class.
Adler Moura of Bow placed third in the 120-pound weight class.
Braedon Goes of Smittys placed third in the 126-pound slot.
Talen Walton of Salem placed third, while Brody McDonald of Salem placed fourth in the 132-weight slot.
Nate Pass of Bedford, wrestling for Smittys, placed second in the 138-pound rank.
In the 145-pound category, Logan Brown of Amherst, wrestling for Smittys, placed third.
Teghan McConnell of Bedford, wrestling for Smittys, placed first in the 160.
In the 195-pound slot, Isaiah Puckett of Concord placed third.
Leo Chung of Concord placed second in the Junior Boys 7-8G ranking.
Other wrestlers from Concord included Jaxon Carter, Max Chung, Devon Farwell, Anthony Gualtieri, Levi Madison, Hunter Richard, and Dominic Schinella.
Wrestlers from Salem included Caleb O’Rourke, Cameron Monahan, Dominic Murphy, Evan Lynch, John Vargas, and Reilly O’Brien.
Smittys wrestlers included Jason Ballou, Logan Bolduc, Austyn Bruce, Colby Ferguson-Torrey, Chase Knuckles, Cody Marchand, Nolan Merrill, Thomas Mulligan, Brady Ouelette, Carter Ouelette, Brian Quam, Mason Skinner, and Connor Whitman.
Keene wrestlers included Kaleb Miner, Leo Runez, and Ian Spencer.
Smittys Barn also placed first in the Girls Scholastic matches with 8 points. Wrestlers included Morgan Pennimpede and Satori Swanson.
