NHSP Investigating Officer Involved Shooting

Report: The incident took place last night on Route 140 in Alton. NHSP are looking to speak to a witness who was driving a U-Haul truck.

CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police are asking for a man who may have witnessed an officer involved shooting on Saturday night to reach out to state troopers investigating the incident, according to a press statement. The incident reportedly occurred on Route 140 near Youngstown Road in Alton at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2017.

“The involved officer was investigating the scene of a DWI motor vehicle crash when the shooting occurred,” according to Lt. Scott Gilbert of the NHSP’s Major Crime Unit. “Neither the officer nor the other party was injured at that time as a result of this shooting.”

No names are being released now as the investigation is still ongoing, Gilbert noted, but investigators are looking to speak with and/or identify a man who was driving a U-Haul truck on Route 140 at the time of the incident and may be a witness to the case.
