NHSP: PA Woman Clocked at 102 mph on I-93

Kaila M. Yallum was arrested yesterday morning for reckless operation.

NEW HAMPTON, NH - A Pennsylvania woman is scheduled to be in court next month after allegedly getting caught driving more than 100 mph on I-93 yesterday morning.

Kaila M. Yallum, 20, of Glenshaw, PA, was arrested on Jan. 17, 2016, and charged with reckless operation.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers assigned to the state police’s special enforcement unit and Troop F were conducted speed traps on I-93, both in the air and on the ground, north near in New Hampton near the Ashland town line.

At just after 11:30 a.m., a trooper observed from the air a Chrysler sedan “that appeared to be traveling at an extremely high rate of speed” and “was initially able to clock the vehicle traveling at 100 miles per hour and received a second reading of 102 miles per hour,” according to Sgt. Victor Muzzey of the NHSP.

The speed limit on that section of the highway is 70 mph.

A trooper on the ground was radioed and the vehicle was stopped. Yallum, who was traveling with two passengers, was then arrested and released on a summons. She’s due in court on Feb. 25.
