NHSP: Reckless Driver Bagged Twice for Speeding

Joel Figueroa was allegedly driving 107 mph on I-93 north last week; was stopped again for speeding yesterday morning.

BOW, NH - A Manchester man will be in court twice next month for allegedly speeding on I-93 today and four days ago.

Joel Figueroa, 21, of Manchester, was first arrested at around 4 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2015, for allegedly driving a Ford Fusion at 107 mph in a 65 zone, just north of the Hooksett Toll Plaza.

A New Hampshire State trooper stopped the Ford and arrested the driver, Figueroa, for reckless operation. He was given an arraignment date of Jan. 26, 2016.

This morning, at just after 9:30 a.m., the same state trooper saw a vehicle driving 86 mph while traveling south on I-93 in Bow and pulled the vehicle over. The driver, again, was Figueroa.

“Figueroa stated to the trooper that he had just picked his car up from the tow company and was upset that he was stopped again stating that he was only going ‘about 80 mph,’” according to Sgt. Sampson.

Figueroa was issued a summons this time for the speed violation.
