CONCORD, NH — Only four city pools, plus the White Park Splash Pad, will open this summer due to a lack of lifeguards.

According to the Concord Parks and Recreation Department, certified American Red Cross lifeguards are still needed for the 2025 season to “ensure the safety of our community members and open the remaining two pools this summer,” David Gill, the director of the department, said.

Pools at Rollins Park at 33 Bow St., Keach Park at 2 Newton Avenue, Merrill Park at 27 Eastman St., Rolfe Park at 79 Community Drive in Penacook will open on June 22. The splash pad at 1 White St. will open this weekend.
