Osgood Named Chief of Police for Concord

City Manager Thomas Aspell, Jr. has appointed Interim Chief Bradley C. Osgood as Concord’s Police Chief, effective immediately. Chief Osgood was selected after an extensive national search.
Osgood began work with the Concord Police Department in 1989 and served as a patrol officer in the Patrol Division until 1998. In 1998, he transferred to the Youth Services Unit, where he served as a detective investigating youth-related crimes and abuse and neglect cases.
In 2001, Officer Osgood was promoted to Sergeant and assigned as a Patrol Supervisor in the Patrol Division. In 2003, Sgt. Osgood transferred to the Training and Services Division (formerly known as the Auxiliary Services Unit) where he had a variety of responsibilities to include the supervision of the Community Resources Unit. Sgt. Osgood was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004 and served as a Watch Commander in the Patrol Division. In 2006, Lieutenant Osgood was reassigned to the Planning and Analysis Unit, in charge of various administrative duties to include grant research, writing and implementation.

In 2007, Lieutenant Osgood was promoted to the rank of Major, which was later reclassified as Deputy Chief. In this position, Deputy Chief Osgood was responsible for the Department’s operating budget and oversight of the Training and Services Division, Community Resources Unit, Records Division, Planning and Analysis Unit, Fiscal Unit and the Parking Division.
Osgood is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, with a B.A. in Psychology; and Rivier University, where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree. He is also a 2008 graduate of the 235th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. and has served as the Interim Police Chief since December 20, 2013.
