Out of Control Boscawen Teen Hauled Off Steeplegate Mall Property

Concord Police, store employees allege Alyssa Roy was "verbally hostile," made vulgar comments.

A local teen may have wished she toned it down a bit during a recent visit to the Steeplegate Mall because now, she’s banned from it.

Alyssa Roy, 18, of Boscawen, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. on Feb. 16, and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

According to a Concord Police arrest report, officers were called to the mall for a report of two female subjects who were asked to leave the mall but were causing problems.

The officers met with Roy and a juvenile who seemed “agitated and were using profanity” while standing with the officers and mall security. While attempting to talk to the two women, the officer alleged that they were “verbally argumentative and would occasionally giggle to each other.”

Mall security reportedly told officers that employees at Abercrombie & Fitch believed the subjects were attempting to steal merchandise when they were asked to leave the store. After leaving, mall security alleged that the two returned to the store and allegedly started shouting and swearing at the employees.

The juvenile was allowed to call a parent, the officer reported, but Roy allegedly remained “verbally hostile” and continued to not listen to the officer.

“The Mall was open at the time for business and full of patrons,” the officer wrote. “I told Roy to calm down and instructed her to stop using profanity.”

Roy reportedly stated that she was upset that the Abercrombie & Fitch staffers accused her of stealing and reportedly refused to stop swearing or calm down, the officer alleged.

The officer explained to Roy that Abercrombie & Fitch was not pursuing theft charges but that she would be given a no trespass letter and was instructed to leave and not return. The officer allegedly explained the property boundaries to Roy and told her to leave. After allegedly making more vulgar comments, Roy reportedly took the letter, blew a kiss to her juvenile friend, and left the area with an unknown male, according to the officer.

However, on a stone wall outside of the food court entrance, the officer allegedly observed Roy sitting with her male friend talking. The officer approached Roy and told her that she was instructed to leave the property. Roy reportedly became belligerent in front of other mall patrons who reportedly gasped and said how rude Roy was and how she was disturbed by the behavior.

Roy then allegedly began to leave the area but was stopped by the officer and arrested for disorderly conduct. She was later also charged with criminal trespass.

The officer reported that while not around her friends, Roy’s “demeanor and attitude changed” and she became “personable” during booking. She also reported gave a written statement apologizing for her behavior.

Roy was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned in court on March 18.
