Follow-Up: Overturned Box Truck Snarls Traffic On Interstate 89 In Concord: Watch
Two people were injured after a truck from Massachusetts flipped on the southbound side of I-89, closing traffic near Exit 2 for 2 hours.
CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating why a box truck flipped and crashed on Interstate 89 in Concord on Wednesday.
Around 2:30 p.m., state police and Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to the southbound side of the highway after receiving reports of a crash near Exit 2. The crash was initially identified as a tractor-trailer rollover by dispatch. But after firefighters arrived, they reported it was a box truck, on its side.
Dispatch told firefighters heading to the scene one person was out of the vehicle. Another was still inside but unable to get out. The second person was not entrapped but needed assistance. One person also had a head injury. Dispatch also told the teams that there did not appear to be any hazards.

Around 3 p.m., the fire commander reported two victims being taken to Concord Hospital. They also said a small diesel leak but confirmed there were no hazardous materials in the truck, and it was empty.

The crash scene was cleared around 4:30 p.m.
