From Phantom of the Opera to Saint-Saens: Music School Faculty Present Evening of French Music

Concord, N.H.—The Musicians of Wall Street at the Concord Community Music School will present an evening of French music, with selections ranging from Saint-Saens’s Elegy, Op. 160 to a Phantom of the Opera medley.

The concert will feature Music School faculty members Michelle Cloutier, violin, and Jacqueline Morin, piano, and will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 in the Concord Community Music School Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street in Concord, NH.

Other selections will include Ravel’s virtuosic Tzigane, Franck’s wide-ranging Violin Sonata in A major, and Saint-Saens’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.

“I have always been a fan of Saint-Saens’s compositions,” says Cloutier. “The Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso has always been a favorite of mine. I can remember being a kid, and every time I heard it on the radio, I would dance around the kitchen.”

About the Artists

Michelle Cloutier (violin) graduated from Boston Conservatory with a B.M., cum laude and a M.M. in violin performance. She has studied with Magdelena Richter, Bonnie Berwick and Irina Muresanu. Mrs. Cloutier is certified as a Suzuki teacher for Books 1-5 having trained with Allen Lieb and Carol Sykes. She has attended master classes in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont for her Suzuki training. She is a former faculty member at the Suzuki School of Newton and has performed with Symphony Nova (formerly Neponset Valley Philharmonic Orchestra), Brockton Symphony and Newton Symphony. In the State of New Hampshire, Mrs. Cloutier has performed with the Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Hampshire Philharmonic.

Jacqueline Morin (piano) made her accompanying debut at the age of ten and has since earned a reputation as a skilled and sensitive collaborative pianist. She graduated summa cum laude from West Chester University with a M.M. in Piano Pedagogy and Plymouth State University with a B.A. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Additional studies include the Tanglewood Young Artists Piano Program and Oxford Summer Program in-residence at Lincoln College of Oxford University. She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, currently serving on the NH board as Fall Festival Chair and Vice-President of Membership and is a frequent adjudicator throughout New England. Ms. Morin teaches theory at the Mila Filatova Piano Academy and is a piano faculty member and concert programs associate at the Concord Community Music School. She is also the pianist/organist for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Derry and a soprano with the New Hampshire Master Chorale.
