A new "war on terror" monument was also unveiled to honor residents who have died overseas or in training exercises since Sept. 11.

BOSCAWEN, NH - A Memorial Day Ceremony on May 30, 2016, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery on Daniel Webster Highway in Boscawen.
At the event, officials unveiled a new memorial dedicated to those soldiers who lost their lives in the war on terror actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The monument was a two-year effort, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader, to honor those who have died overseas or in training exercises since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Fifty New Hampshire residents have their names on the 12-foot granite monument.
