Planet Fitness In Concord To Expand Facility, Improve Parking
The company's Fort Eddy Road location will expand by 5,000 square feet, offer more workout equipment, and a larger free weight area.
CONCORD, NH — This week, Planet Fitness unveiled to customers its expansion plans for its Fort Eddy Road location in Concord. The company displayed two posters featuring schematic drawings of the new facility and parking layout for the Merrimack Center strip mall complex which also hosts a kickboxing fitness facility, BBQ joint, tanning salon, hair salon, and other businesses. The facility will expand into the attached building that previously housed Cobblestone Design Company, which moved to North Main Street in 2017.
Tessa Kurman Ali of Montagne Communications said in a statement that the renovations are expected to be completed later this year.
“The Fort Eddy Road location will undergo a full renovation,” she confirmed in an email. “In addition to fully renovating the current space, PF will be adding 5,000 square feet to its current footprint.”

In January, the company filed site plan review paperwork with the city and also requested a variance to expand parking at the site to 193 spaces. The expanded use of the gym would require 239 parking spaces but the site currently only has 168 spaces, according to the filings.
