Police Bag Two For Purse Snatchings

Man, woman from Concord also face other charges.

Police arrested two Concord residents on Dec. 2 who may have been involved in multiple purse snatching incidents in the city.

Timothy Sargent, 30, of Concord, was charged with Robbery, Attempted Robbery, Theft, Burglary, and Possession Of A Controlled Drug. His alleged partner, Jessica Banville, 27, of Concord, was charged with Criminal Liability For The Conduct of Another (Robbery).

The police allege that Sargent committed a purse snatching on Chesley Street on Nov. 20, and attempted another one on South Main Street on Nov. 22. Police allege that Banville conspired with Sargent to try and commit the Nov. 22 crime, by watching pedestrian traffic on South Main Street for him.

On Dec. 1, the police obtained a warrant and searched the Concord Street home where Sargent and Banville live and reportedly found “evidence linking the suspects to the purse snatchings and other crimes.” They were both arrested the next day.

Police also allege that Sargent was responsible for a burglary that occurred at a on South State Street.

Another purse snatching at , reportedly committed on Nov. 15, remains under investigation, according to Mitchell.

Both Sargent and Banville were held on cash bail and are expected to be arraigned later today.
