The teens were assaulted but didn’t require medical attention, according to police. The invaders got away with cash and a handgun.

The investigation into the incident took about a month, with tips being reported the Concord Regional Crimeline after an alert issued on May 1. The police departments in Franklin and Merrimack also assisted with the case, along with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.

According to Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit of the Concord Police Department, Boynton allegedly used “a realistic-looking BB gun” while Rowley allegedly used a knife in the home invasion incident.

O’Malley noted that the two had allegedly been involved in other incidents in the city.

“It was also determined that Boynton and Rowley committed numerous other crimes together before the armed robbery,” he stated, “to include thefts of service from two separate Concord restaurants and theft of goods from the Concord Walmart. Concerning Walmart, investigators determined that hours before the home invasion, the two stole several items from the store which were used in the commission of the home invasion.”

Boynton was arrested on May 7, on an unrelated parole violation and was held. He was arrested on the burglary and robbery charges yesterday.

Rowley was arrested on May 15, on criminal liability for conduct of another, based on the alleged used of his vehicle in the planning and act of the home invasion. He was placed in pre-trail services with restrictions and allegedly violated the terms of the conditions about a week later after allegedly threatening the home invasion victims, according to O’Malley, resulting in a default or breach of bail conditions charge.

“Detectives also obtained evidence to substantiate further charges against Rowley for the home invasion,” O’Malley said, and he was arrested on May 23.

Both Boynton and Rowley will be charged with the Walmart and restaurant thefts. O’Malley noted that the case was still ongoing and more charges may follow and anyone with any information about the case is urged to call the Concord Regional Crimeline at 603-226-3100.
