Police Investigating Drunken Driving Crashes In Concord: Watch
Crashes on Saturday were reported at Liberty and Franklin streets as well as Horse Hill Road and Runnells Road.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to a crash at the intersection of Liberty and Franklin streets on Saturday.
Just before 11:15 p.m., a woman called police dispatch to report a Honda CR-V had crashed into her parked vehicle. Dispatch said it was hard to hear the caller since the horn from her vehicle, a Kia, was blaring in the background.
Police arrived and reported a woman, who was a passenger in the CR-V, was intoxicated, according to scanner chatter. A short time later, one of the people inside the SUV complained of a head injury, so EMTs and firefighters were requested.

The driver was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge. An underage passenger was also charged with unlawful possession due to “a whole bunch of alcohol” being inside the vehicle, an officer stated. The passenger was taken to Concord Hospital to be treated.
Just before the Liberty and Franklin streets crash, police were sent to a different crash, on Horse Hill Road near Runnells Road, involving a Subaru Crosstrek. Dispatch said the vehicle had crashed into a guardrail.

When the officer arrived, they reported the crossover had driven through a guardrail and into the woods. A wrecker was already at the scene, they said. The vehicle was owned by a Bradford man, and later, a driver was arrested on a drunken driving charge.
Another wrecker was requested since the first tow truck was only standing by as a witness, the officer said.
