Police Investigating Sexual Assault on South State Street
Concord Police were at an apartment building near Monroe Street last night and again today.

Concord Police aren’t saying much about a sexual assault that reportedly took place last night on South State Street but they are confirming that there was an incident and the public is not in any danger.
According to witnesses and scanner chatter, police were called to 55-55.5 S. South St. on Nov. 8. 2015, for a report of a sexual assault. A woman reported that a man was still at the address before units were sent to the scene. Investigators were there through early this morning and then again this afternoon.
Lt. Timothy O’Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit, confirmed that police were on the street investigating an incident but couldn’t comment on it more, due to it being an active investigation. O’Malley, however, stated that the incident was not a “random” attack and the public was “not in any danger” due to the incident.
