Police: Man Beat Daughter with Plastic Baseball Bat
Concord Police charge Ngele Bosa with assault, endangerment after attack on teen.

A local man is facing numerous charges after an investigation into alleged assaults against his teenage daughter, according to arrest and court documents.
Ngele J. Bosa, 47, of Liberty Street in Concord, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2015, and charged with three counts of simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child/incompetent.
According to a court affidavit, on Feb. 10, a teacher at a local school became concerned after learning that one of her students, a 14-year-old girl, sustained some sort of head injury.

School officials, including the teacher, a nurse, and principal, conducted an investigation of the incident and learned from the girl that Bosa had allegedly beaten her with a plastic baseball bat and dragged her over some kind of wall near her home, according to police. Another family member attending the school was asked about the situation and she alleged that Bosa had been physical with both of them in the past, according to the court affidavit. The injured girl was then taken to Concord Hospital for treatment.
An officer and a detective went to the hospital to speak to the girl and noted injuries to her hand, face, and head. During an interview, she told police that the morning was a normal one. She got up for school, showered, went out to meet the bus, but it hadn’t arrived. She learned later there was a school delay and went to a friend’s house until the bus arrived. Bosa later came to pick her up and drove her home. He allegedly began yelling at her and struck her in the head with the bat numerous times. She put up her hand to protect her head and the bat struck her in the hand, she alleged.

The girl tried to get out of the house but Bosa reportedly stated she wasn’t going to school. He then allegedly “grabbed her by the scarf she was wearing and pulled her back and down to the ground.” She alleged that Bosa then “kicked her neck and she lay on the floor.” He was reportedly holding a newborn at the time he was kicking the girl, according to the affidavit.
The girl then fled the house and went to the bus stop. Other students waiting for the bus asked if she was OK but she stated that she remained silent about the incident until she got to school. After arriving at school, she told her teacher what happened and she took the girl to see the nurse.
Police spoke to another family member who stated that the two got into a fight the night about a boy she was with previously. The witness stated that the incident was only an argument and not physical and also denied knowing anything about the morning incident, according to the report.
The detective and officer then went to the Liberty Street apartment and arrested Bosa.
Bosa, who is originally from the Congo, needed a French language interpreter during processing, so one was brought in to assist. He was held on $8,000 cash bail and arraigned the next day.
