Officer Resigns To Evade Criminal Charges By The Attorney General’s Office In SPOTS Case
Schleiden Meneide, a former Hooksett officer, unlawfully acquired and used info on the State Police On-Line Telecommunications System.

CONCORD, NH — A former Hooksett police officer has resigned from his position and relinquished his state certification to keep from being charged in a state investigation.
In early January, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation of Schleiden Meneide, that he “unlawfully acquired” and “used information” from the State Police On-Line Telecommunications System for “an improper purpose,” Michael Garrity, the director of communications, said. After investigating the incident, the state entered into an agreement with Meneide “in lieu of filing criminal charges against him,” he said.
The agreement, Garrity said, included Meneide resigning from the force and surrendering his certification — which will keep him from being hired in New Hampshire and the United States. He also agreed not to seek any law enforcement position and not challenge his placement on the Exculpatory Evidence Schedule, also known as the “Laurie List,” in the event “the Hooksett Police Department determines that his conduct in this matter qualifies him for placement on the same.”

“The attorney general office’s file in this matter will remain open for a period of two years to monitor Mr. Meneide’s adherence to the terms and conditions of the agreement, at which time the attorney general’s office will close the matter with no further action,” Garrity said. “In the event Mr. Meneide does not abide by the terms of the agreement, the attorney general’s office may bring forward criminal charges against him.”
Garrity said the case was investigated by the New Hampshire Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Unit.
