Police Seek Assistance with Theft, Assault Case
Concord Regional Crimeline: Do you know this man? He was reportedly involved in an incident at Hannaford last week.
CONCORD, NH - The Concord Regional Crimeline has issued an alert seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man who allegedly was involved in a theft and assault incident last week.
At about 12:30 p.m. on May 6, 2016, officers were sent to the Hannaford on Fort Eddy Road for a report of a theft.
When they arrived, police were told how an employee observed a male subject select an item from the baby aisle and then walk over to the customer service, according to the alert. It was suspected at this point that the male subject was going to attempt to return the item for cash or store credit, according to the report.

"The employee confronted the subject who at this point already returned the item in question for cash," according to Lt. Timothy O'Malley, the commander of the criminal investigations unit for the Concord Police Department. "The employee retrieved the cash from the suspect and demanded that he accompany her to the loss-prevention office. The male subject refused to do this and ran."
The store manager attempted to stop the subject and was pushed out of the way by the subject. The male subject exited the store and fled in a car, according to the alert. The manager reported no injuries as a result of this incident.

Concord Police recovered still photographs of a person of interest in this incident.
