Possessing, Selling Bath Salts Synthetic Drugs Now A Crime In NH

The NH Dept. of Health and Human Services changed the designation of the synthetic drug containing "alpha-PHP" to a controlled substance.

CONCORD, NH — Police in the state of New Hampshire can now charge people for possessing or selling synthetic "bath salts" drugs, according to the Associated Press. Substances containing "alpha-PHP" are now deemed a controlled substance in the state. The change was made by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services last week.

Taking the drug can lead to "bizarre behavior," paranoia, and the high has been likened to using methamphetamine, cocaine, and MDMA (ecstasy), according to the report.
