Possible Tornado Touches Down In Southwestern New Hampshire: Report
Forecasters and spotters report a damaging tornado, with quarter-sized hail, in Roxbury, not far from Keene; surveyors will confirm Friday.

GRAY, MAINE — A possible tornado touched down in southwestern New Hampshire on Thursday as part of a band of thunderstorms forecasters were warning Granite Staters about earlier this week.
Around 3 p.m., the National Weather Service confirmed weather spotters reported a tornado in Roxbury, next door to Keene. The storm was moving around 30 mph in an easterly direction. Around the same time, debris and damage were reported in Peterborough. About an hour later, the NWS said a storm survey will be conducted between Keene and Dublin on Friday to confirm the tornado.
“Numerous preliminary reports of damage warrant a survey to determine the cause,” an alert stated. “A final assessment including results of the survey are expected to be completed and transmitted via a public information statement by Friday evening.”
