Power Out In Penacook

Overnight, about 1,800 Unitil customers in Penacook and others in the northern part of the capital region communities lost power due to Saturday night's storm that, at times, was severe. During the course of the storm, falling trees damaged two primary power lines to a large block of customers, Unitil stated on Twitter.

"Crews first restored power to a large block of customers by performing a system reconfiguration," the company noted online. "We then fixed the downed wires which can often prove difficult due to pole location and equipment."

By 7 a.m., all of the customers were restored.
