CONCORD, NH — The Powerball jackpot for Saturday is expected to be more than half a billion dollars, according to lottery officials.

Officials said the jackpot would be around $515 million, with a one-time cash payout of $242.7 million before taxes. The last time someone won Powerball was on Jan. 18, when a player in Oregon hit the jackpot for $329 million.

“This weekend is shaping up to be an exciting one for our players as the Powerball jackpot has officially crossed the half-a-billion-dollar threshold,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery, said. “A big jackpot drives strong sales across the state, and we’re looking forward to seeing those sales continue to grow online through NH iLottery and at our retailers statewide right up to Saturday night’s drawing. Remember, Powerball ticket sales support our mission to drive maximum revenue to public education across New Hampshire. Best of luck to all our players.”
