Powerball Reaches More Than Half A Billion Dollars: NH Lottery
Saturday's drawing is expected to be $523 million — the 10th largest jackpot in Powerball history; a Nashua ticket holder won $150K.

CONCORD, NH — Saturday’s Powerball drawing could be another historic jackpot.
Since there has not been a jackpot winner since June 5 as well as an additional third prize drawing added on Mondays, the Powerball jackpot is expected to reach $523 million, the 10th largest in Powerball history, if someone hits it. The last time the Powerball drawing was this high was in January when a player in Maryland won $731.1 million.
“We are thrilled for our players, who now have a chance to win over half a billion dollars and the 10th largest Powerball jackpot of all time,” Charlie McIntyre, the executive director for lottery, said. “With more than $1 million in Powerball sales last week, the momentum will continue right through the drawing on Saturday night, so get your tickets now while there is still time. Best of luck to our New Hampshire players.”

The highest Powerball jackpot was in January 2016, valued at $1.586 billion. A New Hampshire winner won the 9th highest prize, $559.7 million, in January 2018. That winner sued to keep her name from being released after signing the winning ticket — and also gave away winnings to orgs in New Hampshire. Another Powerball anonymous winner from New Hampshire was the $487 million drawing winner from 2016.
One lucky player, a ticker purchaser to Wednesday’s drawing sold at the Shaw’s Supermarket at the Globe Plaza in Nashua, won $50,000. For an additional dollar, the player added the Power Play option which tripled the win to $150,000.
