Profile High School Dominates Bishop Brady on Granite State Challenge
The Patriots defeated the Giants 375-210 in the recent Granite State Challenge match, showcasing strong teamwork and knowledge.
DURHAM, NH — The Profile Patriots from Profile High School defeated the Bishop Brady Giants from Bishop Brady High School with a score of 375-210 in the third game of Granite State Challenge. The match aired on New Hampshire PBS on February 27, 2026.
The Profile Patriots team is led by captain Maddie Perkins, a 12th-grader. Other team members include seniors Moses Rolfe, Wyatt Wright, and Marcus Hamilton. Alternates for the team are 9th-grader Henry Hamilton and 12th-grader Raiden Valentine. School counselor Jill Brewer and Social Studies teacher Paul Savard coach the team. Profile High School enrolls 130 students and serves the communities of Bethlehem, Easton, Franconia, and Sugar Hill.
Bishop Brady’s team is captained by 12th-grader Alex Pelletier. The team also includes 11th-grader Andrew King and 12th-graders Joseph Richardson and James Horangic. Eleventh-graders David Cameron and Henry Thresher serve as alternates. History teacher Anna Schaffer and Math teacher Tom Morey coach the team. Bishop Brady, located in Concord, enrolls 225 students.

In Round One, Profile’s team demonstrated a broad knowledge base, answering questions on subjects from the Gettysburg Address to marzipan ingredients. Captain Maddie Perkins answered questions ranging from tax return deductions to Marie Antoinette. Moses Rolfe started Profile's scoring and identified the event that led to World War I. Wyatt Wright added 25 points for Profile by identifying the primary author of the Declaration of Independence.
Bishop Brady began to gain momentum towards the end of Round One. Joseph answered a math question about feet in a mile. Captain Alex Pelletier identified the artist behind “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” and Andrew King named one of the countries sharing New Guinea.

“I told them going in that win or lose, they're doing awesome. It's been 15 years since we've had a team on Granite State Challenge, so they're doing something that they don't have a peer that's done before,” Bishop Brady Coach Anna Schaffer said. “So, I give them a lot of kudos.”
Profile outpaced Bishop Brady in Round Two, the three-strikes-and-you’re-out format, with Marcus correctly identifying the 1984 Kevin Bacon film. Bishop Brady gained 50 points in Round Three with help from alternates David Cameron and Henry Thresher, and James answered a question about John McCain. Profile’s alternates, Henry Hamilton and Raiden Valentine, helped add 90 points to their team's lead.
Profile team captain Maddie Perkins said, “I'm proud of us for being able to compete against schools that have like 10 times our population, if not more.”
Profile coach Paul Savard added, “As a teacher, I'm prouder because a lot of the stuff that they've learned in our classes now reflect in these answers and they can apply them. So, it's great.”
Bishop Brady team captain Alex Pelletier said, “It definitely isn’t the outcome that we were looking for, but this being our first time, I’m quite pleased.”
