R.A.D. Basic Physical Self Defense Class Offered this Month
Concord Police class has 12 openings for local women beginning Jan. 19.

The Concord Police Department has 12 openings for local women interested in participating in the R.A.D. System of self-defense.
The program offers “realistic self-defense tactics and techniques,” according to department officials, and is a “comprehensive course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance.“
The course includes lecture, discussion, and self-defense techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities. The 12-hour course is performed across four days and is taught by nationally certified R.A.D. Instructors.

Each student will be given a workbook/reference manual which will outline the entire Physical Defense Program for reference and continuous personal growth. R.A.D. has a free lifetime return and practice policy for all R.A.D. graduates.
If you are a woman 18-plus (13-17 can participate with an adult), you can participate. The classes are free and will be held at the Heights Community Center, 14 Canterbury Road, in Concord. Classes will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 19, 26, Feb. 2, and 9, 2016.
