CONCORD, NH — Weather forecasters are warning of rain, sleet, and rain for the first part of the weekend and breezy and chilly temperatures in the latter half.

On Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a “hazardous weather outlook” warning of mixed winter weather and a flood warning, too, for some parts of the state.

“A period of heavy rain may bring urban and poor drainage flooding Saturday along with a period of gusty winds,” the alert stated. “The rain will likely start as snow, with up to a few inches possible in the north.”

A flood warning remains in effect for the Suncook River in North Chichester as well as rivers and waterways in Belknap and Merrimack counties. Motorists, too, forecasters said, should not enter into flooded roads or drive around barricades.

“Most flood deaths occur in vehicles,” an alert stated.
