Real-Time Traffic Cameras Now Available

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces a new public-private partnership between the NHDOT’s Transportation Management Center and TrafficLand, a Virginia-based company, to provide real-time viewing access to the NHDOT’s highway cameras.

The public can now go to Trafficland.com to view traffic and road conditions using NHDOT cameras in 10 regions of the state, including I-93 in Salem and Bow, I-293 in Manchester and I-95 in Portsmouth.

The camera locations are tied to interactive Google maps, which display travel speeds over the road corridors as color-coded lines, so the viewers can quickly determine where a traffic slow down may be occurring, and bring up real-time video from nearby cameras to confirm travel conditions.  Green equals normal speeds, yellow indicates that there are slow downs occurring, and red can mean t there is slowed or stopped traffic. The ability to see several cameras along a corridor will now give traveler real-time views of what is happening on particular roadways, allowing them to plan their travel routes and times accordingly.

The TrafficLand collaborative partnership is part of the NHDOT’s ongoing efforts to bring real time traveler information to the public.

Other cameras in the Concord area are located on I-93 at the Canterbury rest area and at the intersection of Route 106 and Route 129, in Loudon, just north of I-393.
