This Friday: Reps. Kuster and Guinta to Host Expert Roundtable on Heroin Epidemic
On Friday, as part of their new Bipartisan Task Force to Combat the Heroin Epidemic, U.S. Reps. Annie Kuster and Frank Guinta of New Hampshire will host a joint roundtable discussion to help solve the growing heroin epidemic in their home state.
The Representatives will discuss their Stop the Overdose Problem Already Becoming a Universal Substance Epidemic (STOP ABUSE) Act, which they introduced this month. An expert panel will provide feedback to the legislation and outline steps that local support services, law enforcement and Congress can take to help individuals and families affected by opioid addiction.

The STOP ABUSE Act proposes a comprehensive approach to treatment and stopping the nationwide heroin epidemic, which Granite Staters have identified as the most important issue facing the state. The bill establishes an Interagency Task Force on Heroin Addiction, reauthorizes vital drug crisis grants, and revises treatment guidelines for sufferers of heroin addiction.
Friday’s event is open to the press. Members of the media or public planning to attend should RSVP to Hannah Bassett at Hannah.Bassett@mail.house.gov
