Ring in the Holidays in Concord this Weekend

Two Audi features holiday shows by Immaculate Heart of Marcy Church on Saturday, GSSO on Sunday.

Here are 5 Things to know about this weekend in Concord:

1. Rain? It looks like it. Weather forecasters are predicting freezing rain on Saturday and scattered showers on Sunday. On Saturday, expect temperatures to be in the low 30s in the morning and evening, and the mid-40s during the day. Expect similar temps on Sunday too.

2. Cookies. Immanuel Community Church holds a Christmas cookie walk at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Buy a container and fill them up with your favorites.

3. Behold. Andrew Peterson and friends will perform “Behold the Lamb of God,” a collection of songs about Jesus, at the Capitol Center for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $22 to $47.

4. Believe! The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church presents “an epic Christmas show” entitled “Believe!” at the Concord City Auditorium on Saturday. Tickets are $10. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.

5. Other. On Saturday, the Penacook Village Association and city officials talk about the last leg of the Route 3 corridor redesign at United Church of Penacook at 9 a.m. Bishop Brady High School hosts a holiday craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the same time, the McLane Center hosts a blood drive for the Red Cross. The Concord Public Library hosts Irish music of the season at 2 p.m. The St. Paul’s School Ballet Company presents its annual production of at 7:30 p.m., at Memorial Hall on the school’s campus. Phil Sargent performs at Hermanos. NHTI’s Stage Lynx Drama Club performs “Deathtrap,” at 7:30 p.m. (there will be a second showing Sunday at 2 p.m.). On Sunday, the Granite State Symphony Orchestra performs holiday pops at 3 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium. The Granite State Ringers hold a holiday concert at South Congregational Church at 3 p.m. State Street Combo plays Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.
