Police: Drunk Driver Caused Route 3A Crash, Power Outage
UPDATED: Unitil customers in Bow have their power restored after accident.
Update, 8:52 p.m. Power has been restored to Bow. Unitil is replacing a utility pole on Route 3A so be careful if you’re driving in the area tonight.
Update, 7:50 p.m. One man has been arrested due to the crash between Vaughan and River Roads along Route 3A in Bow.
John Fisher, 57, of Allenstown, has been arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated. According to Merrigan, the two vehicles were both driving south on Route 3A when Fisher was allegedly attempting to overtake the vehicle in front of him.

“Fisher’s vehicle then struck a utility pole causing significant damage,” according to Merrigan. “Investigating officer’s arrested Fisher for DWI. The operator of the first vehicle received a minor shoulder injury and was treated at the scene.”

A two-vehicle crash on Route 3A near River Road is causing a major power outage in Bow at this hour, according to police and Unitil.
The crash occurred at a little past 5:30 p.m. on March 14, 2015, according to emergency alerts.
Sgt. Art Merrigan, the public information officer for the Bow Police Department, said that there was “significant damage to the electric utilities in the area” after the collision. About 900 customers are without power or more than 28 percent of the utility’s customers in the town.
According to Unitil’s latest post on Twitter, the estimated restoration time is around 8 p.m., although the online interactive map says that it’s “assessing” restoration times.
