Route 4 In Chichester Closed For Hours After Crash: Video

Concord, Chichester, Loudon fire and rescue teams as well as police and sheriff's deputies assisted at a Dover Road crash on Wednesday.

CHICHESTER, NH — Area police and firefighters were sent to Route 4 for a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday.

At just past 2:15 p.m., capital region dispatch began receiving calls about an accident on Dover Road near Bailey Road including reports that some were people stuck in vehicles and another person possibly having a seizure. Chichester police confirmed at least one of the drivers was pinned inside their vehicle, according to scanner chatter. The road was also quickly closed by police.

Initially, only Chichester and Loudon firefighters were called to the scene. However, after command realized a second driver was pinned, Concord firefighters and EMTs were requested to assist.

About 15 minutes later, the fire commander requested dispatch find out if the DHART helicopter was available. It was available and was requested to the crash. Police cleared an area around the crash scene to allow the helicopter to come to the scene. About 20 minutes later, a patient was airlifted out of the area. EMTs took other patients to Concord Hospital.

Police rerouted traffic around the collisions for several hours, according to dispatch and Patch readers.
