Saad Named President of Liberty Utilities in NH

New president has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry.

Liberty Energy Utilities (New Hampshire) Corp. and its two subsidiaries, Liberty Utilities (Granite State Electric) Corp. and Liberty Utilities (EnergyNorth Natural Gas) Corp. are pleased to announce the selection of Daniel Saad as its new president, effective Aug. 1. 

Saad has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry, with an extensive operations background in the Northeast.

“It will be very exciting to lead this young company as we serve the needs of our electric and natural gas customers in New Hampshire,” said Saad. “We look forward to continuing our growth, adding jobs to the local economy and providing safe and reliable service to our customers.”

Liberty Energy Utilities purchased the New Hampshire assets of National Grid in 2012. Liberty has since grown to nearly 300 employees and opened a new corporate office in Londonderry. Saad previously held the position of vice president of operations and engineering for Liberty. Prior to that, he worked for National Grid for 23 years, most recently as vice president.

Liberty’s former New Hampshire president, Richard Leehr, will be moving to a new projects development role within the Liberty Utilities organization.

The company provides natural gas to a number of communities from Nashua to Gilford. The company also provides electricity to Salem, Windham, and communities near Lebanon.
