Say Goodbye To Hooksett's Lilac Bridge: Watch

The New Hampshire bridge, first constructed in 1909, was demolished this afternoon due to safety concerns.

HOOKSETT, NH — The Lilac Bridge in Hooksett is no more. The 600-foot bridge, which crossed the Merrimack River, was demolished on July 7, 2017, after safety issues were recently raised by town and state officials who feared that could collapse without warning. The bridge, which has been closed since the 1970s, was originally constructed in 1909.
