Concord School Board Member Jack Dunn Resigns

Cites unspecified "personal and professional reasons."

Concord School Board member has resigned from the board, effective May 25, according to sources.

Dunn has submitted a letter to the board. He was at the beginning of his second three-year term, having been re-elected in November 2011 in an uncontested race.

School Board President  said the board could either appoint someone to fill the position until November or candidates could sign up in September for a ballot position in November to run for the remainder of Dunn's seat. She said the board would probably leave the position vacant.

Dear Ms. Ardinger and Fellow Board Members:

For both personal and professional reasons, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my resignation as a member of the Concord School Board, effective immediately.

It has been a privilege and an honor to serve with each of you. I am proud of the work we have done and the many accomplishments we have achieved together during my three and half years on the board.

I extend my deepest appreciation to the citizens of Concord, administration, principals, teachers and staff for their tireless commitment to our public schools and for giving me the opportunity to serve. My service on the school board was a tremendous experience that I will always remember with pleasure.

Respectfully Submitted,

Jack Dunn
