A Second Start for High School Students
Local businesses and community members mentored Second Start Alternative High School students inspiring positive work ethic.
Each year, Second Start’s Transitional Employment Program looks to connect students to local community members who mentor and guide each student toward becoming a positive contributing member of the Concord work force. The most important part of the mentor-student work experience is the relationship building. I would like to thank the following businesses and community members for fostering work ethic, providing stability and most importantly giving students a chance to succeed outside the regular classroom setting.
- Beaver Meadow Elementary School Staff - Jim Pike, Bethany Franz, Angela Dusseault
- Rundlett Junior High School Staff - Scott Owen and Tom Sica
- City of Concord Cemetery Staff - Jill McDaniel, Jeff and the Maintenance Crew from Blossom Hill
- DRC Automotive Pembroke - Dan Clark and John Genest
- Merrimack Valley Daycare Infant Room staff and Program Director Gail
Thank you for your support and we look forward to another successful year in 2015-2016. If any local businesses are interested in becoming a student mentor, please contact Debbie Brenner at 603-225-3318 or dbrenner@ssahs.org.
