'Severe Thunderstorm Watch' Issued For New Hampshire Tonight

Updated: The NWS is warning of stormy weather conditions — 40 mph wind gusts and half-inch hail through 8 p.m. on Sunday.

CONCORD, NH — Weather forecasters issued a hazardous weather outlook involving thunderstorms throughout New Hampshire on Sunday.

The “severe thunderstorm watch” runs through 8 p.m. and covers the entire state.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely, with temperatures in the lower 80s. Winds will be light, but rainfall could be up to a quarter of an inch or higher. During the evening, lows will drop into the 60s. Rain is expected to continue through Monday morning.

Around 4:30 p.m., the NWS issued another alert warning of wind gusts up to 40 mph and half-inch hail. Tree limbs could be knocked down and unsecured objects were expected to be blown around. Hail could damage vegetation, the alert stated. If outdoors during the storm, consider seeking shelter inside a building, forecasters said.
