Sex Offender Fugitive Sought by U.S. Marshals

David Connell allegedly failed to maintain his registration after sexually assaulting a child in 1991 and failed to appear.

The New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is looking for David Connell, 50, who is being sought at this week’s Fugitive of the Week on two outstanding warrants for allegedly failing to maintain his sex offender registration and failing to appear.

“Connell is required to register as a sex offender due to his 1991 conviction in NH for two counts of Felonious Sexual Assault on a victim between the ages of 13 – 16, with an age difference greater than three years,” according to Deputy Marshal Jeffrey White. “Connell was last known to be homeless in the Portsmouth, NH area, but could be anywhere at this time.”

Portsmouth Police and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department issued the warrants.

Connell is 6-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs around 275 lbs. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, with light skin tone. He sometimes uses the alias “David Shelton.”

Marshals are warning that if you know where Connell is or have seen someone who looks like him, do not approach him or attempt to apprehend. Call local police or marshals at (603) 225-1632, or call 1-877-WANTED-2, or submit a WEB-TIP, or TEXT NHTIP with any information to TIP411.
