Homeless Sex Offender Sexually Assaulted a Young Child, Took Pictures: Cops
Gary Chalifoux was arrested yesterday in Manchester; detectives are trying to find other kids he may have been in contact with in Concord.

CONCORD, NH — A previously homeless man in Concord but found recently in Manchester has been arrested on numerous charges after police investigated allegations of sexual assault and the manufacturing of child pornography in Concord, according to a press statement by police. Gary Chalifoux, 45, of Manchester, was arrested on Dec. 13, 2016, and charged with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, two counts of manufacture of child sexual abuse images, two counts of possession of child sexual abuse images, and two counts of duty to report; registration of online identifiers, all felonies.

Police arrested Chalifoux on Maple Street in Manchester after receiving information on Sunday that he “may have sexually assaulted a young child and manufactured child sexual abuse images,” according to Det. Sgt. Sean Ford of the Concord Police Department.

“Detectives worked diligently and swiftly on the investigation,” Ford noted. “Detectives executed search warrants and conducted numerous interviews. The investigation established that Mr. Chalifoux had committed numerous sexual related crimes against a young child.”
A warrant was issued against Chalifoux and with the assistance of Manchester Police detectives and the U.S. Marshal’s Service, he was located at a residence in Manchester and taken into custody, without incident.

“Detectives are also attempting to identify any other children that may have been in Mr. Chalifoux’s care or presence in the recent past,” Ford stated, noting that while his sex offender registry was listed as homeless in Concord, “has been known to stay at multiple addresses over the past few years.”
Chalifoux was held on $360,000 cash only bail and will be arraigned today.
The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible, Ford noted.
