Sexual Assault Incident Reported At NHTI, Concord’s Community College

An incident was reported to security on Tuesday; school safety says an assailant is not known, no description of the suspect is available.

CONCORD, NH — The safety department at Concord’s community college said Tuesday a sexual assault was reported to officials.

The New Hampshire Technical Institute Campus Safety Department received the report around 2 p.m. The attack occurred on the school’s property but specifics about when and where were not released.

“At this time, the NHTI Campus Safety Department has received very limited information regarding this report and respects the rights and privacy of the survivor,” a school alert stated. “The responsible individual is unidentified and no description is available at this time.”

Safety officials offered safety reminders for students. These include when out late at night, students should remain with friend groups and look out for each other; alcohol and drugs are often used to perpetrate sexual assault; be alert to people pressuring others to use alcohol or other drugs; some sexual offenders target people by using alcohol as a means to commit a sexual assault; download and use the USafeUS app; when meeting someone from a dating app for the first time, it is best to do so in a public location; travel in well-lit areas; and request a safety escort from the NHTI Campus Safety Department, if needed.
