Shooting At Hooksett Target Deemed A Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Police say there was no threat to the public after an incident in the parking lot of the store on Friday.

HOOKSETT, NH — Hooksett police, and fire and rescue teams were sent to the Target on Quality Drive for a possible shooting on Friday.

At just before noon, 911 began receiving calls about an incident. Later, police requested EMTs to stage away from the store. The shooting occurred by the main entrance in the parking lot. Police quickly secured the scene, according to scanner chatter.

At just after noon, capital fire dispatch reported the shooting was actually a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Firefighters said one person “was down,” as a result of the incident. EMTs told dispatch the person was “code gray” and returned to service, according to dispatch.

Capt. Jake Robie of the Hooksett Police Department confirmed later the incident was a person with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and there was no threat to the public.
