Shot Fired Call On Concord Heights Keeps Police Busy

A woman accused of firing a gun near Old Loudon Road and the Dollar Tree on Loudon Road was detained on Wednesday after a two-hour search.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police, Loudon officers, and a state trooper K-9 unit spent a couple of hours on Wednesday attempting to locate a woman accused of firing a gun on the Concord Heights.

Around 3 p.m., police received reports of a shot fired call in the area of Old Loudon Road and the Dollar Tree store on Loudon Road. The woman was reportedly wearing a green dress, had a brown purse, and short brown hair. She was also with a man.

After arriving, police found the man, but he was not cooperative with police and left on his motorcycle, one officer said.

Residents in the neighborhood confirmed hearing the shot but said it was east of Old Loudon Road.

Police and, later, the state police K-9 scoped out the area along Old Loudon Road behind the store. A second officer was seen in the area of Aspen Dental, casing a pickup truck in the parking lot connected to the incident.

An officer later confirmed the woman had possession of a handgun based on a picture. They attempted to call her, but her calls went straight to voicemail, according to an officer in the field.

Officers canvased the area looking for the woman, including streets and inside stores.

Around 3:45 p.m., dispatch had the woman’s phone pinged and it reported she was within 300 feet of the area around the Longhorn Steakhouse on Loudon Road.

During the investigation, police began to collect information from some of her contacts about the incident — including that the woman might be homeless, had past drug use, might be impaired, the gun may have accidentally discharged while she was in the woods, the keys to the pickup truck could not be found, and the gun may have been stolen out of Loudon.

Later, dispatch received a ping from the woman’s phone, and they believed she was in the area between the Makris Lobster and Steak House and the Quality Inn in Loudon in the woods by a river. The ping had about a range of 2,000 meters.

Concord police requested Loudon officers go to Route 129home to check and see if the woman was in the area. A Concord officer was seen patrolling Route 106 and Josiah Bartlett Road.

Loudon police told Concord they believed the firearm was stolen, according to scanner chatter.

Around 4:45 p.m., a man approached the pickup truck in the Aspen Dental parking lot and officers began speaking with him. About 10 minutes later, the suspect exited the woods near Dick’s Sporting Goods on Loudon Road, and she was detained.
