GRAY, ME — A low-pressure system moving into the region on Wednesday is expected to make roadways around New Hampshire slippery tonight and for the Thursday morning commute.

“It will initially start as rain except in the mountains where snow and sleet are likely with some freezing rain possible,” the National Weather Service said Wednesday. “Eventually colder air works southward across the entire region tonight, changing the precipitation to a mix of light snow, sleet, and freezing rain, which should continue through at least Thursday morning, allowing for slippery travel.”

Snow accumulations could be about an inch, while ice is expected to be around one-tenth of an inch in southern and central New Hampshire.
