Snowmobile, Vehicle Collide On Route 114 In Bradford

A Newbury man sustained serious injuries after his snowmobile collided with a truck on Route 114 in Bradford Tuesday evening.

BRADFORD, NH — A snowmobile and a motor vehicle collided on Route 114 in Bradford Tuesday evening, resulting in serious injuries for the snowmobile operator.

The incident occurred just after 6:30 p.m., near the Student Transportation of America Facility.

Joshua McComish, 21, of Newbury, was attempting to cross Route 114 at a designated snowmobile trail crossing, officials said. He did not see an oncoming truck traveling north on Route 114. The truck driver, Clayton Christie, 42, of Henniker, also did not see the snowmobile enter the roadway, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

The collision caused serious damage to both the snowmobile and the truck. McComish sustained serious injuries and was transported to Concord Hospital for treatment by Henniker Ambulance. New Hampshire State Police Dispatch contacted New Hampshire Fish and Game regarding the crash.

Responding agencies included police from Bradford, Henniker, and Newbury, the Bradford Fire Department, New Hampshire State Police, and a conservation officer with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in this crash. The incident remains under investigation. New Hampshire Fish and Game reminds OHRV operators to operate with care while enjoying New Hampshire’s riding opportunities.
