11 Things About This Week in Concord.

It's the first week of April. Here are some things you need to know about the week ahead:
- Excellent spring weather. The National Weather Service is calling for wonderful weather this week. Expect the possibility of rain on Monday morning, with temperatures in the mid-50s. The rest of the week though will be mostly to partly sunny, with temps in the mid-40s to low 50s all week. Overnight lows will drop down into the 20s all next week.
- Social Capital Think Tank. The next Concord Social Capital Think Tank potluck will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at WKXL. The event is free. Just bring something good to eat and prepare for a lively discussion and fun!
- Spring Progress Party. Also at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Merrimack County and Concord City Democrats will be hosting a spring progress party at The Barley House. Tickets are $20. The event will feature a performance by Northern Light, the band featuring former U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes and Lebanon Mayor Karen Liot Hill.
- Dance demo. Concord Community Education at the Abbot-Downing Elementary School features a free tango dance demo and mini-lesson at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
- Tai Chi Open House. The Kimball Jenkins Estate hosts an open house for Tai Chi running from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday with instructor Mark Roth. The event is free and open to the public.
- The city during the Civil War. Former Concord Monitor Editor Mike Pride and current Publisher Mark Travis share their thoughts about Concord and Penacook during the Civil War at the next Walker Lecture Series. The talk will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Concord City Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
- Croissants and Crossover. The Business and Industry Association hosts a legislative half time roundtable with four of the state’s Statehouse bureau reporters at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Holiday Inn. Tickets are $25.
- True crime writers, hanging out. Kevin Flynn and Rebecca Lavoie will be celebrating the release of their new book, “Notes on a Killing,” at True Brew Barista at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The authors warn that it’s a “no-reading, super chill celebration.”
- Annual state convention. The National Federation of the Blind NH is holding its annual state convention and parent/student seminar at 8:30 a.m. on Friday at the Holiday Inn. Registration is $15 and includes sessions on both Friday and Saturday.
- Spa night fundraiser. The Woman’s Club of Concord hosts a spa night scholarship fundraising event at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at the Chamberlin House on Pleasant Street. Tickets are $30 and include three spa services.
- Happy b-day! Imagination Village turns 12 on Saturday and is holding “a massively incredible fabulous sale.” Reptiles will be on the move at noon; cake will be served at 1 p.m.
