Special Alumni Concert to Kick Off Music School's 30th Anniversary Weekend
A stellar line-up of Concord Community Music School alumni will present a diverse evening of folk, classical, and jazz music.

CONCORD, N.H—A stellar line-up of alumni will return to the Concord Community Music School to present a diverse evening of folk, classical, and jazz music in a special concert opening the School’s 30th Anniversary Weekend, March 20-21.
The 30th Anniversary Alumni Concert will feature four of the Music School’s alumni, who will team up with their musical friends for a multi-genre ensemble program.
Fiddler Audrey Budington, recipient of Berklee College’s prestigious Presidential Scholarship, will present a medley of folk and roots music; cellist Emily Taubl, who has soloed with numerous symphonies and has been featured in the New York Times, will perform a classical program; bassist Scott Kiefner, who performs regularly with some of New England’s premier jazz musicians, will present an instrumental jazz set; and jazz pianist Mark Shilansky, professor of Music at the University of New Hampshire and Berklee, will team up with fellow jazz artists for a set of vocal selections.

The Alumni Concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20 in the Concord Community Music School’s Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street in downtown Concord. The following day, the Music School will host a full day of public special events and activities as part of the annual Performathon & Community Open House. Students, alumni, and faculty will perform all day, raising money for the Financial Aid fund. Activities will include an instrument petting zoo, a Story Corps booth, a community sing, jam sessions, and more, with refreshments will be provided by El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. All Saturday events are free and open to the public. The Performathon and Open House will take place on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Music School.
