Speed Violation Leads To DUI Arrest

Michelle Doherty of Hooksett was arrested on Sunday night, according to police.

HOOKSETT, NH — A local woman was arrested for drunk driving after being pulled over for allegedly speeding on Hooksett Road, according to police. Michelle Doherty, 51, of Hooksett, was arrested on Feb. 18, 2018, for driving under the influence and a speed violation. At just after 7:15 p.m., an officer stopped a motor vehicle near Water Works Drive for the alleged violation.

The driver – Doherty – allegedly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, according to Sgt. Josephe Ducharme of the Hooksett Police Department.

“Doherty was asked if she was willing to take field sobriety tests, which she agreed to, and was subsequently arrested,” he alleged. “Doherty was transported to the Hooksett Police station where she agreed to a breath test and the test resulted in a BrAC of 0.13.”

Doherty was processed and released on personal recognizance bail. She’s due in Hooksett District Court on March 1.
