Spring Snow Expected For New Hampshire Early This Week

The National Weather Service is calling for up to 3 inches of snow and slick roads during commuter hours on Monday and possibly Tuesday.

CONCORD, NH — The National Weather Service issued a “hazardous weather outlook” warning Sunday afternoon about the first spring snow of the year.

Impending snowfall, expected in most of central and southern New Hampshire, could bring “slick travel” on Monday morning, early afternoon, and possibly Tuesday morning.

In Concord and the capital region, the snow is expected to start as rain, first, around 1 p.m., and then change to snow, which will last through early Tuesday morning. Up to 3 inches is possible.

In Nashua, eastern Hillsborough County, and western Rockingham County, the storm will start as rain and then switch to snow. About an inch of snow is expected. On the Seacoast, the rain will start at around 3 p.m. and then switch to snow. Wind gusts will be as high as 20 mph. About an inch of snow is expected.

The alert covers all communities Merrimack, Hillsborough, and Rockingham counties.

On Tuesday, the sun returns, and so do the warmer temperatures, with highs in the upper 40s. Expect wind gusts of up to 20 mph. Temps drop down into the mid-20s on Tuesday night.

More rain is expected on Wednesday, with highs in the mid-40s. Lows will be in the mid-20s overnight.

Sunny skies are expected on Thursday with highs in the mid-40s. Temps will be down in the upper 20s on Thursday.

More sun is expected on Friday but rain and snow are possible on Saturday night and Sunday.
