State of NH Issues $61K in Worker Training Grants
Concord company, Great Bay Community College, and others received the matching grants that will help train 147 workers.

CONCORD, NH — Six New Hampshire companies received tens of thousands of dollars in job training grants to train workers in the state with new skills, according to a press statement from the office of Gov. Maggie Hassan. The job training grants for August amounted to $61,505. The companies contributed matching funds to bring the total amount for training workers to $123,010.
“I am excited to announce the latest round of critical grants to help prepare New Hampshire workers for good-paying, high-quality jobs at New Hampshire’s growing businesses,” Hassan said in a statement. “By helping thousands of Granite State workers develop the skills needed for success in the innovation economy, New Hampshire’s Job Training Fund plays an essential role in our efforts to provide innovative businesses with the workers they need now to grow and thrive in New Hampshire.”

- Praxair Surface Technologies of Concord received a grant of $1,750 to train one employee in the Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate program through the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NHMEP).
- A grant of up to $32,142 was awarded to Early Learning New Hampshire to train 115 employees at early learning centers throughout New Hampshire in early childhood education through Great Bay Community College.
- Stafford Oil of Laconia received a $2,250 grant to provide two employees Oil Heat Technician training from the New Hampshire School of Mechanical Trades.
- Corbeil Enterprises of Bristol will use its $8,013 grant to train three employees in ISO 9000:2015 certification, business growth and blueprint reading through NHMEP.
- Liberty Turned Components of Gonic received a $10,300 grant to train six employees in ISO 9000:2015 certification, including internal auditing, with Quality Systems Consulting.
- Tender Corporation of Littleton received a $7,050 grant for NHMEP to train 20 employees in Lean, Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen.
The Job Training Fund has awarded more than $9 million in grants since October 2007, with employers contributing more than $12 million, too. More than 26,000 New Hampshire workers have been trained with the funds, according to the statement.
