Stop and Go Traffic on Hills Avenue Next Week
The current construction workzone on the east side of South Main remains in place and will be active.

On Monday, June 27, 2016, a large hole will be dug near the Main Street entrance to the Kennedy Apartments and a large cement structure will be lowered into it and covered.

The cement box is a vault for underground utility (power and telecommunications) connections.

Another large vault will be placed underground in front of the Capitol Center for the Arts on Wednesday, June 29. Some parking spaces in front of the Kennedy Apartments and the Capitol Center will be reserved for a work zone while crews are placing the utility vaults.
Sidewalks in these areas will be temporarily closed while work is underway. Flaggers will be on-site to assist pedestrians. The current construction workzone on the east side of South Main remains in place and will be active.

Hills Ave. The sidewalk in front of 10 Hills Ave (McGowan Fine Art) will be removed and rebuilt next week. Traffic on Hills Ave will be alternating stop and go in each direction while work is underway. Flaggers will be in place.
Smile Building The hardscape crew will complete the granite tiles at the bumpout near the Smile building.
S. Main Crosswalks Flush curbing (the top at ground level) will be installed at the S. Main street crosswalks.
Short Week Construction crews will be off Friday, July 1 and Monday, July 4.
