‘Suspicious Bag’ Investigation Reported At Concord Federal Building: Watch

Police, firefighters, troopers, and hazmat crews were sent to the Rudman federal building to investigate a bag with white powder in it.

CONCORD, NH — Concord police, fire and rescue teams, federal officials, and hazmat units were at the Warren Rudman federal building at the intersection of Pleasant and South Spring streets for a report of a suspicious package on the building grounds.

Around 7:45 p.m., a security guard at the building called the police to report a suspicious bag or package on the west side of the building on the ground. According to dispatch, the guard also called federal officials to the scene and said they would be there soon. The first officer reported seeing a bag with white powder inside and requested other police officers to close at least South Spring Street down. Later, Pleasant Street was also closed.

Firefighters and EMTs were also requested to the scene.

New Hampshire State Police and the hazmat team were requested and arrived around 9 p.m.

Around 9:30 p.m., a sample was taken from the bag and the hazmat teams and firefighters cleared the scene.
